Heart describes his love for Sooner football… well any football… and basketball for that matter… and golf, tennis, and anything else that can be seen on ESPN. Heart describes his unfailing love and affection for his family. While he was known as Boomer Bob and B-Ware by many, he was known as Pawpaw by the ones that would drive and define his world. Pawpaw was never totally happy unless we were all around him. His favorite times were watching his grandkids play sports, sing, perform, preach and sometimes just watching them play at home. It also seems that Heart takes on a whole new meaning when talking about his strength of spirit to fight through what unfortunately became in his body a very weak heart. While his actual heart was barely sufficient to keep him alive, his Heart, his determination, and his love for his family kept him alive much longer than any doctor could have expected. Even as his heart was failing, B-Ware, Dad, Pawpaw kept things happy and light wanting to protect the ones he loved from showing how tired and weak he had finally become. While how he lived his life was a tremendous gift to us all, how he faced the end of it was nothing short of extraordinary and brave. He faced death exactly how he lived his life; with strength, determination, courage and joy. A memorial service for Robert will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 4:30 pm at First Christian Church Katy, 22101 Morton Ranch Rd., Katy, TX 77449. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org or the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 7
