Obituary of Lina “Lily” Cuerpo Reyes

Lina “Lily” Cuerpo Reyes, age 88 passed away on August 7, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her husband Marcelo Agustin Reyes and her parents, Generoso and Feliza (Paez) Cuerpo. Lily is survived by her children Carmel Bass and her husband Fred, Efren Reyes and his wife Luz, Steve Reyes and his wife Gwen, Elvie Almenario and her husband Dale, Evelyn Lustre and her husband Nonoy, June Reyes and his wife Gay and Cielit Gibby and her husband Peter; fifteen grandchildren, Lisa, Darryl, Olaf, Allan, Kay, Cindy, Caloy, Len-Len, Nikki, Maricar, Michael, Kristen, Kathleen, Marc and Patti; six great-grandchildren, Glaiza, Carmen, Shauni, Hannah, Daxon and Eliana. Lily was affectionately known as “Lola” to her grandchildren and “Inay” to her children and their spouses. She enjoyed reading all types of books and literature. She was a wealth of knowledge, trivia and always kept up with current events. Learning and education was very important to her and she loved sharing and discussing all sorts of topics. Lily also loved the performing arts and enjoyed any opportunity to attend the theatre. She was also an avid sports fan who loved all sports and keeping up with scores, pennant and divisional races. She was a devoted wife and mother and always enjoyed spending time with her family. Lily’s bright light will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Visitation for Lily will be held from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, August 8, 2008 at Clayton Funeral Home where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 8:00AM Saturday, August 9, 2008 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Road, Pearland, Texas 77581, (281) 485-2421. Rev. Seth Hermoso will be officiating. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
