Dianna Belle Winfrey-Lewis, passed away on May 29, 2012. She is preceded in death by her father Charles Winfrey Sr.; brothers, Charles Winfrey Jr. and Donald Wifrey. Dianna is survived by her mother, Anna Winfrey; husband, Chester Lewis Sr.; son, Chester Lewis Jr. (Lavanya); daughters, Countress Lewis, Felìcia Lewis, and Andrea Milson; brothers, Wesley Winfrey, Daniel Winfrey (Cynthia), Kenneth Winfrey, Craig Winfrey (Mary); sisters, Nancy Pierre (Thomas), Cynthia Williams, Jacqueline Williams; grandchildren, Ryan Bradley, Ashlynn McKinight, Jevon Lewis, James Johnson, Brighton Menifee, Kyndall Lewis, Kameren Ware, Vijhay Lewis; and a host of other family and friends. Dianna devoted her life to Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a past member of Berean Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a matron of the junior usher board and at St. Anthony Missionary Baptist Church serving also as an usher. She was a current member of New Deliverance Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as an usher, youth director and president of the usher board. She received her formal education from the local schools in Opelousas, Louisiana. She graduated from J. S. Clark High School, where she was a majorette and a member of the basketball team. She furthered her studies in business at Houston Community College and received her Associate Degree. Dianna united in marriage to Mr. Chester Lewis in Houston, Texas. Their years of marriage and their time together spanned for more than fifty-one (51) years. They were loving parents of four beautiful children, all whom she deeply loved and cherished. Her professional life and career was extensive and fulfilling to her ethics. She was employed with A&W Root Beer, Alaskan Department Store, Meyer Brothers Department Store, Beall’s Department Store, Winfrey’s Ladies Fashion (proprietor), Neighborhood Store (proprietor) and ABC-A-CATA-ME, where she retired after many years of service. She was and Eastern Star and member of the Texas Gulf Coast Church Drill Team Association. Throughout her life, Dianna was a lively, jolly individual. Her hobbies were working with young people and the elderly, basketball, fishing, gardening/ landscaping and definitely shopping. Most of all, she really enjoyed being in the presence of her family and having a good time at family functions. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A visitation for Dianna will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 11:00 am at Covenant Glen Church/Fellowship of the Fountains Church, 401 Present St., Missouri City, Texas 77489. Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pearland.
