Obituary of Bertha Gonzales

Bertha Cuello Gonzales passed away on July 16, 2012 at the age of 79 years. Born April 16, 1933 in Waelder, Texas to the late Pablo and Louisa Cuello. Bertha was a resident of Pearland for over 50 years while happily married to her true love, the late Marcus Gonzales Sr. Her life was blessed with family members from siblings to children to her many grandchildren. Bertha is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Mack Cuello, and her husband of 54 years, Marcus Gonzales Sr. She is survived by a loving family; her children, Debra Ann Long, and her husband, Brooks, Gilbert Gonzales, Lisa Marie Heim and her husband, Michael, Marcus Gonzales Jr. and his wife, Deborah, Janet Banfield and her husband, Greg, Linda Russell and her husband, David, and Louisa Regino and her husband, Joe; her brother, Paul Cuello; sisters, Rosa Saenz, Benita Villarreal and her husband, John, Janie Melindez, and her husband, John; grandchildren, Joshua B. Long, Jordan C. Long, Lee Ann M. Gonzales, Aaron R. Gonzales, Rachel N. Heim, Brett M. Heim, Alexis M. Heim, Tristan M. Heim, Robert Guzman, Amber A. L. Gonzales, Marissa F. Banfield and Courtney A. Banfield; great grandchildren, Abigail Grace Guzman, Robert Micah Guzman III and Kaitlyn Rose Guzman; numerous other relatives, a host of friends and her beloved pet, “Sassy”. Special appreciation to her caretakers who through their loving care made the last year of her life content. To Houston Hospice, whose special calling in life paved the way for the entry to her eternal life. Those serving as pallbearers are: Marcus Gonzales Jr., Gilbert Gonzales, Joshua B. Long, Jordan C. Long, Louis Saenz, Brett M. Heim and Tristan M. Heim. A visitation for Bertha will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The funeral service will take place at Clayton Funeral Home on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 10:00 am with Rev. John Mark Benson of Sagemont Church officiating. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
