Obituary of Jessie Kathleen Johnson

Jessie Kathleen Johnson, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away on September 3, 2008. She is survived by her sons, Jay Ward and Phillip Johnson; daughters, Lynn Meade & her husband, Sam and Connie Payne & her husband Clark; eight grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and son, Dimmie Johnson, and daughter, Flora Jeanne Walker. Jessie was born on February 2, 1916 in Houston, Texas. She resided in the Pearland-Friendswood area since 1970. Jessie was a bookkeeper by profession for Ashland, Inc. for more than twenty years. She was also a devoted childcare worker at her church. The children there provided much joy in her life. Jessie was a wonderful and devoted mother who spent any time she could with her family. She also loved to cook, read, attend church, and sew and crochet special gifts for her children and grandchildren. A Celebration of Jessie’s Life will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008, at 2:00 pm, in the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel.
