Elizabeth Ann Melinder, 47, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her parents, Raymond and Emma Vaughan; her loving husband of 23 years, Robbie Melinder; daughters, Katie, Laura and Shelby Melinder; brother, Ray Vaughan; mother and father in-law, Leroy and Felis Melinder; brothers-in-law, Jimmie Melinder and wife, Toni, Paul Melinder, and wife, Elizabeth, and Tony Melinder; nine nieces and two nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Elizabeth received her undergraduate and masters degrees from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. She loved gardening and landscaping the backyard. Her family was the biggest part of her life and she supported whatever her girls were into. Elizabeth loved the serenity of the outdoors whether it was traveling through the Hill Country or snow skiing. She had a natural gift for decorating and enhancing their home whether it was inside or outside.
Elizabeth was an investor in people. She loved projects at her work, her church or with family and friends. Elizabeth was a “can do” person and no matter what she was working on, her positive energy affected the whole project. She had a strong faith and love for God. Elizabeth was an inspiration to all that knew and loved her.
The visitation for Elizabeth will be held on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10:30 am at First Baptist Church at 3005 Pearland Parkway, Pearland, TX 77581 with Pastor David Villejoin officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth’s honor to the Colon Cancer Foundation at www.coloncancerfoundation.org.
