Obituary of David Michael Legate

David Michael Legate, 53, passed away on August 23, 2012. He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Lee Legate. David is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Legate; mother Penny Davis and her husband, Ron; sons, David Legate and wife, Chelsea, Chris McGullam; daughters, Katie Legate, and Sarah Hendricks; brother, Kenny Legate and wife, Cindy; sister, Patty Jett and husband, David; grandchildren, Colin Paschall, Kaylee Legate, Xavier Hendricks and another grandchild on the way; his beloved dogs, Sadie and Tracie; and a host of other family and friends. David was one of those people that never met a stranger. He was a gifted and talented musician on the guitar and lead vocals and his favorite was classic rock music. David was the life of any get together with his family and friends. He was an excellent provider for his family and cherished the years he had with Mary. “Grandpa Legate” as he was fondly referred to by his grandchildren was overjoyed at the expected arrival of another grandchild. David always had a gift for making sure the family stayed close together, and it was very important to him that they all knew how much they were loved. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A Visitation for David will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 10:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Otto officiating. Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pearland, TX.
