Obituary of Patsy Ann Nichols

Patsy Ann Nichols, a longtime resident of Country Place in Pearland, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007 at her home at the age of 76 years. Patsy was born September 20, 1930 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Jewel Cecil and Patsy E. (Hill) Forse. Patsy married Richard E. “Gene” Nichols on June 18, 1955 in Nacogdoches, Texas. She retired as a school teacher and taught in private schools. Moving from Houston, Patsy and Gene settled in Country Place in Pearland. They joined the First Baptist Church of Pearland and became very active with their church family. Patsy taught Sunday School and was a member of the Church Choir. She was also a member of the Country Place Choir and the Country Place Quilting Bee. Patsy is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Forse. She is survived by a loving family; her beloved husband, Richard E. “Gene” Nichols; two children, Michael E. Nichols and wife Antoinette, of Lake Jackson and Lee Ann Nichols, of Houston; brother, Clarence Forse and wife Jo Ann, of Lake Jackson; two sisters, Joyce McCutchen and husband Bill, of Lake Jackson and Hazle Goss and husband Sheryl, of Belton; two grandchildren, Lindsey Nichols, of San Marcos and Katherine Nichols, of Huntington Beach, California; numerous other relatives and a host of dear friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, August 30, 2007, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway in Pearland. A Celebration of Patsy’s Life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 31, 2007, at the First Baptist Church of Pearland, 3005 Pearland Parkway, with Rev. Sonny Foraker and Rev. Raymond Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Restwood Memorial Park in Lake Jackson, Texas. Those serving as pallbearers are; Urban Grass, George Elafros, Hugh Pylant, Gary Forse, Jerry Laughlin and Sheryl Goss. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Patsy’s honor to the First Baptist Church of Pearland, 3005 Pearland Parkway, Pearland, Texas 77581 or to the Hospice Care Team, Inc., 107 West Way, Suite 29, Lake Jackson, Texas 77566.
