Obituary of Larry W. Menefee

Larry W. Menefee, 60, passed away on October 14, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, DeForest and Lois Menefee; wife, Dorothy Menefee; and brother, Donald Ray Menefee. Larry is survived by sons, Larry W. Menefee Jr. and DeForest Menefee; sisters, Myrtle L. Moore and husband, Johnny, Joyce F. Menefee; six grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Larry always looked forward to special occasions or holidays when family and friends could get together and eat home cooked meals. He was a man of great faith and proudly served as an Assistant Pastor at his church spreading the word of the Lord. Larry enjoyed taking care of his car and was always washing and waxing it until it shined like new. He was fondly referred to as Papa by all of his grandchildren. Larry will forever be remembered for doing things “his way.” While his family encouraged him to slow down and take care of himself, he would tell them he was doing things his way. Larry was always a happy person and up for having a good time. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A visitation for Larry will be held from 10:00 am to noon on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will begin at noon with interment to follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
