Obituary of Joe Fowler

Joe Fowler, 81, passed away on October 22, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, Osie and Lura Fowler; and brother, Jack Fowler. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Fowler; son, Michael Joe Fowler; daughter, Julie Kae Fowler; brother, David Fowler and wife, Carole; and a host of other family and friends. Joe was an extremely active person that volunteered with many different organizations. He worked with the Wings over Houston for several years and was past President of and a longtime member of the Pearland Lion’s Club. Joe had a private pilot’s license and was a certified scuba diver. He and Mike enjoyed taking trips and finding new places to go diving together. Joe enjoyed backyard gardening and ham radio operation. He was a licensed Electrical Engineer by trade and received both his bachelor and master’s degree from Louisiana Tech University. Joe and Mary Ann were members of First United Methodist Church for 58 years and they loved traveling all over the US and particularly to Hawaii. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A visitation for Joe will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church in Pearland, TX with Rev. Dr. Bob Joiner officiating. Interment will take place at Harmony Chapel Cemetery in Hico, Louisiana on Saturday, October 27, 2012.
