Obituary of Betty Jean Maze

Betty Jean Maze, a resident of Country Place in Pearland, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2007 at the age of 82 years. Betty was born April 22, 1925 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Henry M. and Isabella L. (Williams) Shea. She attended and graduated Valedictorian from East Peoria High School in 1942. Betty retired from The Kroger Co. after 47 years of service in bookkeeping and accounting. Before her passing, Betty also worked for Century 21 Alliance in Pearland.
Betty was Past President of the Christian Business Women Association of Peoria, Illinois. She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Eastern Star and member of Shepherd of the Heart United Methodist Church in Pearland. Betty enjoyed square dancing, knitting, sewing and traveling, and was an avid Houston Astros fan.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Merril Kenneth “Kenny†Maze and her sister, Lucille Wheat. She is survived by her daughter, Cheri Maze Brown and her husband, Russell, of Pearland; grandson, Zachary Earle; three nieces, Lynn Wheat and Lucile Busch, both of Illinois and Barbara Allen, of California; two great-nieces, Melissa and Jenny Busch, both of Illinois; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
A memorial service celebrating Betty’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Shepherd of the Heart United Methodist Church, 12005 CR 59 in Pearland (281-997-8750) with Rev.
