Obituary of Ludivina Hinojosa

Ludivina Hinojosa, 85, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Ines Garza; her husband, Gilberto M. Hinojosa; and sister, Yolanda Garza. Ludy is survived by her sons, Emigdio Hinojosa and wife, Stella, Gilberto Hinojosa and wife, Michelle, Raudel Hinojosa and wife, Becky; daughters, Aminta Cantu and husband, Carlos, Ludivina Cardenas and husband, Robert; brothers, Arnoldo Garza and wife Bertha, Gualberto Garza and wife, Lala; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson; and a host of other family and friends. Ludy was truly a “thread artist” that loved to sew, knit, crochet and embroider. She was especially proud of the nine Last Supper cross stitch art she had completed. Ludy loved her children and grandchildren and was affectionately known to the older grandchildren as “Guelita” and to the younger grandchildren and great grandchildren as “Guita Mama.” As the matriarch of the family, Ludy was a strict disciplinarian who would pull off her “chancla” to keep everyone in line. She will forever be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and for her caring nature. Ludy always looked forward to family gatherings so she could cook and bake for everyone. Her other favorite pastime was getting together to play Loteria. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ludy’s friend, caregiver and companion, Sandra Morales for all her love and support. A visitation for Ludy will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 beginning at 5:00 pm with a Rosary and Service starting at 6:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581 with Deacon Marcelino Villarreal officiating.
