I came, with Bill, to UH-Clear Lake at its founding in 1974 and often dropped by to talk in his lair on the third floor of the Bayou Building. A man with his cosmopolitan, wide-ranging experience and many talents always had something fascinating to say. If he’d wanted to, he could have carried on with self-congratulating grandeur. No one wuld deny his the right to it. But, as, the notice says, he was always kind, one felt the easiness of a long friendship even early on. It was a great joy to know him. Best wishes to all who loved him.
