Alberta Marie (Woods) Foster was born to the union of Gilbert Woods and Catherine Woods on March 1, 1939 in Galveston Texas. Alberta spent her young years in Galveston Texas then moved to California where she attended Saint Mary’s Catholic school and then went on to graduate from Oceanside high school where she met Johnny Foster Jr. Alberta then married the love of her life Johnny Foster Jr. in 1957 and they were blessed with four children. Alberta and her new husband loved to fish and would share their love for fishing and the water with all their family. Alberta starting working for Hughes/Raytheon Aircraft in San Diego California in 1972 until she was retired. Her eyes would glow when she spoke of her time there as she helped engineers create many of the items that helped form the Aerospace industry today. Alberta is survived by her four wonderful children Kenneth Foster, Johnny Foster, Anthony Foster, and Catherine Michelle Foster, 7 grandchildren Kenneth Foster, Trina Santiago, Imani Miller, Julian Foster-Diaz, Sasha Foster-Diaz, Maya Foster-Diaz, Olivia Foster-Diaz and 10 great-grandchildren and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-law, brother-in-law and friends, Alberta is also survived by her two wonderful sisters Caroline McElroy and Wanda Dabney. During her wonderful life she became a master quilter, crocheter, embroider and loved to teach anyone who had some time to enjoy her passion of quilting if even for a few minutes. Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother and three brothers, Johnny Foster Jr (Husband), Gilbert Woods (Father), Catherine Woods (Mother), Richard, Herbert and Gilbert Woods Jr. Alberta will be laid to rest next to her husband Johnny Foster at Eternal Hills in Oceanside California. Alberta was a very warm, kind, and giving person and touched everyone she made contact with always trying to give a little bit of herself especially when it came to her favorite craft which was quilting. You could always find her with a needle and some sort of fabric. She was more than happy just to listen and talk with you about anything you had on your mind and by the time your conversation was over you had a happy heart and help with a new scarf. Alberta gave of herself every day and would not allow anyone not to see the good that everyone had even through the toughest of times. A Memorial Service for Alberta will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 with family receiving friends at 5:00 pm and the service starting at 6:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.
