Obituary of Jennifer Metz

Jennifer Lynne Metz, age 52 of Manvel, passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2008. She is survived by her parents, Ken & Arlene Bleam; her loving husband of 31 years, Sonny; son, David Metz; daughter, Paula Metz; son, Tony Wilkerson; daughter, Neka Sunlin; sister, Karen Swiggard & her husband Scott; nieces & nephews, Justin, Hannah, Jenna, Lauren, Nicole, Laura, Jessica, Christa, Ryan, Daniel II, Adrienne, Lisa, Brandon, Lindsee, Zachary, Anastasia, Margaret, Mikaela, Noah, Caitlin, and Dominic; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Rev. Erwin A. Metz & Eunice; sisters-in-law, Debra Lester & her husband, Keith, Kathy Bodin & her husband, Dr. Daniel Bodin, and Cynthia Schriber & her husband, Andrew; and a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Dr. Timothy Metz. Jennifer was born on April 16, 1956, in Manhattan, Kansas. She was a cherished daughter, loving wife and a devoted mother. She married Sonny on June 18, 1977 and when they began their family found that raising their children was one of her greatest joys. Jennifer lived in the Southbelt area for more than forty years. She was a registered nurse at Methodist Hospital for thirty two years and co-workers became like family than just friends. She was an animal lover, especially dogs and horses, and was a trail rider for Wagon #19 of the Saltgrass Trail Ride. Jennifer was always active in her church and had a strong faith. She also loved to sing. She will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved her. Visitation for Jennifer will be held on Monday, November 10, 2008, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at 11:00 am at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 5515 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, 281-485-7833.
