Obituary of Floyd C. Keith

Floyd Clinton Keith, a longtime resident of Pearland, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the age of 83 years. Floyd was born May 17, 1924 in Labelle, Idaho to the late Floyd and Vera Chloe (Morgan) Keith.
Floyd proudly served his country in World War II with the U.S. Army. After serving his tour in World War II, Floyd returned to his homeland and joined the U. S. Army National Guard. He received his commission and earned the rank of Captain of Company C of the 49th Armored Division. Floyd served as Scout Master and coached Little League Baseball throughout Rod and Gary’s childhood. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. A true and proud American, Floyd loved music, enjoyed singing, and he was an avid golfer.
Floyd is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna, and a sister, Barbara Briggs. He is survived by a loving family; two sons, Rodney Keith and his wife, Laura, of Pearland and Gary Keith and his wife, Lizette, of Conroe; his brother, Dr. Ron Keith and his wife, Connie, of Thatcher, Arizona; four grandchildren, Michael Keith and his wife, Carmen, of Houston, Allison Shipp and her husband, Todd, of Katy, Ryan Brent Keith and his wife, Jennifer, of Hallettsville and Drew Keith and his wife, Christine, of Conroe; five great-grandchildren, Olivia Keith, Gabrielle Keith, Noah Kyle Shipp, Bryce Joshua Keith and Jacob Anthony Keith; close friend, Nell Ellis; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, June 15, 2007, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway in Pearland. A service celebrating Floyd’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 16, 2007, in the chapel of Clayton Funeral Home with Pastor Sandra Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
