Obituary of Rena Mae Cash

Rena Mae Cash, 90, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Frances DePuma; her loving husband of 51 years, Lee Cash; and sister, Eleanor DePuma Woods. Rena is survived by her son, Ralph Cash; daughter, Sandra Krampota and husband, Charles; brother, Johnny DePuma and wife, Glenda; Mary Frances Farmer and husband, Neal; grandchildren, Katherine Deffebach and husband, Matt, Kenneth Krampota and wife, Melissa; great grandchildren, Lauren, Dylan, Peyton, Reese, Emma; and a host of other family and friends. Rena graduated from SFA High School in Bryan in 1940. She then attended McKenzie Business College and graduated in 1942. After completing business college, Rena worked for various companies in the Bryan area. She took her Civil Service Test and worked in Air Bases in Colorado and North Carolina while her husband Lee was serving during World War II. Rena later worked as a Clerical Typist and became an Area Clerk for the Soil Conservation Service until she retired. She kept all of the books for her husband’s contracting business. Rena enjoyed gardening, crafting with sea shells, collecting dolls and in her early years loved bowling in leagues. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bryan, Texas and served as President of the Alter Society. Later after moving to Lake Jackson, Texas, Rena became a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rena’s caretaker Carolyn with Heart-to-Heart Hospice, her very special friend, Betty Knott and to the staff at Colonial Oaks Assisted Living Center in Pearland, Texas. A Visitation for Rena will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 6:00 pm at Clayton Funeral home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The graveside service will take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 11:00 am at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bryan, Texas.
