Obituary of Marie Dorothy Clarke

Marie Dorothy Clarke, 94, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Victoria Kornacki; her 9 siblings; her beloved husband of 45 years, Jesse Clarke; her sons, Phillip and Richard (late Connie) Clarke; her daughters, Betty Jean (late John) Schultz, Virginia (Jim) Betts, and Rose Mary Harbour (Betty Pruitt); and granddaughter, Susan Clarke. Marie is survived by her loving son, David (Joy) Clarke; and daughters, Bonnie Clarke (Raphael Peter) and Deborah (Gerard) del Junco; grandchildren Stewart (Mary Margaret) and Stephen (late Renee) Clarke; Mark, Greg, and Cliff Konicki and Laura Turner; Kevin (Camille) and Eric Greeley, Sheryl Crutchfield; Matt (Sandy) Clarke and Syndi Robbins; Vicki (Bill) Goy and Bradley Harbour; Brent (Ryonen) and Bridget Donaldson (Ryan McDonald); Drew and Holly del Junco; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their extended families. Marie graduated from Pulaski High School, Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1937. After completing business school, she managed a children’s home and served two years during World War II as a Lieutenant Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps where she met her husband. Marie’s hobbies included volunteering, league bowling and knitting. When not visiting family, she enjoyed retirement with her husband aboard the Clarke Ark and on the tennis courts. Marie was a devoted member of Catholic Churches in Hinsdale, IL, Marco Island and Naples, FL and served on the Board of Directors of several church and hospital charities. Since 1994, Marie was a resident of Country Place and a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Pearland, TX. Marie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 6:00 pm at Clayton Funeral home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday October 24, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd., Pearland, Texas 77581. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, Garden of Gethsemane.
