Obituary of Steve Elias Mendiola

Steve Elias Mendiola, 24 of Channelview, passed away on October 22, 2013. He is survived by his parents Pedro and Guadalupe Mendiola; brother, Pete Mendiola and wife, Erica; sisters, Wendy Baires and husband, Orlin, Martha Bardales; grandparents, Guadalupe Mendiola and Marta Diaz; nieces and nephews, Jaquelyne Bardales, Andrew Mendiola, Shyla and Jonathan Baires; and a host of other family and friends. Steve loved video games while drinking Sprite or Monster energy drinks and eating Flaming Hot Cheetos. He enjoyed the outdoors and always looked forward to the next fishing or hunting trip or spending time with his friends and family barbecuing. Steve was very proud of his career in the oilfield and took great pride when he raised his first rig that sold. He loved his family dearly and shared his love of Cheetos and Sprite with his nieces and nephews. Steve will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and being a man of few words. He was always available to help others in need and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A visitation and service for Steve will be held on Friday October 25, 2013 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will begin at 6:00 pm and the funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning, October 26, 2013 from 9:00 until 10:00 am before going in procession to the gravesite at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
