Mabel Lucille Rohne, age 83, passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer on November 26, 2008. She is preceded in death by her parents, Burt & Mabel (Davis) Smithson. She is survived by her loving husband of forty one years, Dennis Rohne; son, Dennis Rohne & his wife, Teresa; daughters, Juleen Axelsen & her husband Nils, and Kay French & her husband, Greg; sister, Lois “Billie” Savage; grandchildren, Julie Henderson, Megan Axelsen, Dennis James Rohne, Erik French, and Emily French; great-grandson, Tyler Henderson; and a host of other family and friends. Lucille was born on May 21, 1925 in Eden, Manitoba, Canada. She immigrated to the United States in 1951 and resided in the Pearland area since 1971. Lucille enjoyed cooking, gardening, and was an animal lover and sports fan, especially the Astros. She was also very faithful to her church. Her grandchildren affectionately referred to her as “Grandma”. Although Lucille spent many years in the United States, she was always very proud of her Canadian heritage. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Garrett Lynch and his entire staff at the Baylor College of Medicine Breast Care Center. Visitation for Lucille will be held on Friday, November 28, 2008, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. The service will be on Saturday, November 29, 2008, at 1:00 pm, also at Clayton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Pasadena, Texas. Pastor Ricardo Sinisterra of New Life Lutheran Church in Pearland will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lucille’s name to: Susan G.
