Annette Lois Stavinoha Laird, a resident of Manvel, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2007 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 49 years. Annette was born February 9, 1958 in Houston, Texas to Matilda Helen Stavinoha and the late James Henry Stavinoha. Annette, a longtime resident of Pearland, attended Pearland High School and graduated in 1977. She was an International Freight Forwarder with Alliance International for the past seven years. Annette, working in the international freight industry for over 24 years, was formerly employed with The Fritz Co. and with Stone Forwarding, Inc. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Manvel and was a former parishioner of St. Helen Catholic Church of Pearland. Preceded in death by her father, James H. Stavinoha, Annette is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, Bobby Ray Laird; her mother, Matilda H. “Till” Stavinoha; two brothers, Harvey James Stavinoha and his wife, Georgina and Gregory Frank Stavinoha and his wife, Sabrina; two sisters, Yvonne Marie Henderson and her husband, Dennis M. and Agatha Mae “Aggie” Moody and her husband, William E., Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Bobby C. and Isabelle Laird; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and a host of dear friends. A memorial service celebrating Annette’s life will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, September 2, 2007, in the Chapel of Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway in Pearland with Deacon Dale Almenario officiating. Honorary pallbearers are; D. Michael Henderson, Jr., Douglas J. Henderson and William E. Moody, III. In lieu of flowers, by Annette’s request, memorials may be made to the Congenital Heart Surgery Fund 6207, in memory of Annette Stavinoha Laird, c/o Texas Children’s Hospital, P. O. Box 300630 MC 4 – 4483, Houston, TX 77230-0630, www.texaschildrenshospital.org. Annette’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Denton Cooley and Dr. Susan W. Denfield for their sincere compassion and care given throughout Annette’s life.
