Clifton Weems Robbins Jr., age 68 of Pearland, passed away on August 18, 2009. He is preceded in death by his father, Clifton Weems Robbins Sr. He is survived by his mother, Frances (Gordon) Robbins; wife, Janice (Faye) Enfinger Robbins; sons, Clifton Weems Robbins III & his wife Shannon, and John Gary Robbins & his wife Patricia; daughter, Lezli Suzanne Robbins Lafargue; brother, Paul Robbins; sisters, Fran McKee & her husband Mike, and Kate Wilson & her husband Bruce; grandchildren, Amy & Aaron Lafargue, Madison & Abigail Robbins, Tyler, Tucker, & Hannah Robbins, and Taylor Wilkerson; and a host of many other family & friends. Weems was born on July 24, 1941 in Apalachicola, Florida. He resided in Pineville, Louisiana before settling in the Pearland area. He spent 37 years in the paper industry and retired from International Paper Company. Weems and Faye were happily married for 46 years. He was a loyal and dedicated family man and loved spending quality time together with them. Weems was known for his Sunday drives while the kids were growing up. He was truly “The Rock” and patriarch of the Robbins family and the grandchildren affectionately called him “G” Daddy. Weems was a strong man mentally and physically and coached his sons baseball and football teams while they were growing up. Fishing was a lifelong hobby and pastime he enjoyed with his family. Weems and Faye shared many happy moments traveling in their r.v., taking trips whenever they could. Weems enjoyed negotiating the “Art of the Deal” whether it was buying a car or anything to save money. Weems always remembered and reflected on his Florida roots. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Visitation for Weems will be on Thursday, August 20, 2009, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2009 at 10:00 am in the Clayton Chapel. Reverend Stephen Daily of Providential Baptist Church will be officiating.
