Belva Louise Allen, age 82, passed away on December 2, 2008. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ruby (Burroughs) Shofner. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Alvis; daughters, Karen Ross & her husband Patrick, Brenda Covington & her husband John, Marla Fikes & her husband Bob, and Marsha Johnson & her husband Ron; sister, Doris Burton; grandchildren, Michelle Loubiere & her husband Dan, Michael Ross & his wife Jill, Michael Covington, Tony McNickle, Janet Jacobs, Lynn Miller & her husband Brad, and John A. Covington; great-grandchildren, Trevor Robinson, Ashlyn Ross, Matthew Loubiere, Taylor Ross, and Christopher Loubiere; and a host of other family & friends. Belva was born on January 23, 1926, in Center, Texas. She lived in Pasadena from 1945 to 1988 and then lived in Galveston for seven years until moving to Pearland in 2005. She loved living near the water and spending time at the beach where she could watch the pelicans. Belva enjoyed all types of music, as long as it had a good beat. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and always looked forward to family gatherings. Belva worked as a realtor and broker and was very successful buying and selling property on the island. Visitation for Belva will be on Thursday, December 4, 2008, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Clayton Chapel. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 1:00 pm, also in the Clayton Chapel. Pastor Patrick Windham will be officiating.
