Obituary of LaWayne Rhea Kellum

LaWayne Rhea Kellum, 76, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, B.K. and Beatrice Rhea and former husband Aldon Earl Kellum. LaWayne is survived by her sons, Larry Rhea Kellum and girlfriend, Stacey Skeen, Garry Wayne Kellum and wife, Kelly; daughter, Kimberly Rathbun and husband, Andy; grandchildren, Denise Pyeatt, Aldon Rhea Kellum, Candace Kellum, Courtney Kellum, David Kellum, Allison Kellum, Derek Rathbun; her beloved feline companion “Muffinz”; and a host of family and friends. LaWayne was an excellent provider for her family and had a strong work ethic her entire life. As a single Mom, she often took on extra jobs to make ends meet and found ways to make things work within her budget. Her entire life was devoted to her family. LaWayne had a very caring nature and loved taking care of her cats and dogs. She was affectionately known as “Mama Wayne” to her grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A Visitation and Funeral Service for LaWayne will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will begin at 5:00 pm and the service will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating. Interment will take place at Rosemont Cemetery in Wichita Falls, Texas on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to your local animal shelter or charity of choice.
