Obituary of Joyce Annette Stafford

Joyce Annette Stafford, 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, Erich and Clara Kopeschka. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, George Stafford; son, Scot Stafford and wife, Donna; daughters, Lisa Friedrichsen and husband, Gerald, Tina K. Harrison and husband, Steve; sister, Gloria Eckers; grandchildren, Kristyn, Courtney, Kyle and Kayla; great grandchildren, Rileigh, Peyton and one on the way; and a host of other family and friends. Joyce retired from San Jacinto College with over 20 years of service in the book store and found great enjoyment in helping to further the education of all the students. She loved and cherished her husband, George, and they never had a fight, only moments of disagreement. Joyce enjoyed morning cups of coffee and relaxing while reading the paper. She was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Houston Astros, and found great joy rooting for Jose Cruz. Joyce was especially fond of nature and loved feeding and watching the squirrels through her window, or walking along the beach collecting sea shells and feeding the seagulls. She cherished her family and loved spending time with her friends and family. Joyce instilled a great sense of right and wrong in her children and a deep sense of respect for their parents, family, and other people. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Foundation at www.alz.org. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 am at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 5515 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, with Pastor Jon Salminen officiating.
