Obituary of Elvin Roy Krell
Please share a memory of Elvin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elvin Roy Krell, 84, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Maude Krell; his loving wife of 55 years, Elsie Merle Krell; and four brothers. Roy is survived by his son, Freddy Krell; daughters, Kay Campbell and husband, Mark, Lori Ann Newtz and husband, Dean; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Roy was a very frugal man that knew how to stretch a dollar. He was a self-made business man and with the support of Elsie, partnered with his brother-in-law “Boots” Nelson to create Krell and Nelson Construction. The partnership was amicably split and Roy would continue as Krell Construction until his retirement at 55 years of age. Roy was excellent with his hands and could build just about anything from wood. He loved to tinker with small engines and was known for his ability to repair the unrepairable. Roy was very humble. He was a man of strong faith and integrity. Roy enjoyed the outdoors and in his early years looked forward to hunting and fishing. He cheered the Texans, Rockets and Astros and was quick to give an opinion or express his frustration concerning each team’s performance. He was an expert “42” player and has the trophy to prove it! Affectionately known as “Pappaw” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, he cherished spending time with them and in their opinion he could fix anything. Roy will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
