Obituary of Katharine Scott

Katharine Scott, 82, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Willie Anderson; her loving husband of 59 years, Donald F. Scott; two brothers and two sisters. Katharine is survived by her son, Donald Scott and wife, Debbie; daughter, Diana Russell and husband, Stephen; grandchildren, Julia Ferrell and husband, Mike, Christopher Scott and wife, Nikki and Alexander Russell; great grandchildren, Anne, Emily, Megan, Michael and Erin; and a host of other family and friends. Katharine raised her family in Galena Park before moving to the country in Hearne, Texas in 1970. She kept the records and books for the Ford dealership and Sanders Lumber Company. Katharine also later worked for the Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and was known for her chicken spaghetti. Katharine had a strong faith and was a faithful member of the Methodist Church of Hearne. She was a skilled seamstress and made many of Diana’s clothes when she was growing up as well as curtains and many other things. Katharine was extremely proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and always looked forward to having them in the kitchen with her baking cookies and cakes. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A visitation and funeral service for Katharine will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 noon with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating.
