Foley Samuel Provenzano, 79, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jennie Provenzano; and brothers, Paul and Joe Vincent Provenzano. Foley is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pat Provenzano; sons, Michael Provenzano, Dr. Mark Provenzano and wife, Dea, Matt Provenzano and wife, Sally; daughters, Marianne Friedell and husband, Fido, Melissa Justice, Marci Holub and husband, Sonny; grandchildren, Bryan Hankins, Stephanie Justice, Meagan Holub, Blake Holub, Abigail Holub, Ethan Provenzano, and Olivia Provenzano; great grandchildren, Kalyn, Madison and Ava Hankins; and a host of other family and friends. Foley was an avid sports fan that enjoyed going to the Houston Oilers and Houston Texans football games. He and Pat enjoyed traveling on vacations all over the world for many years after retirement. He was a big outdoorsman who looked forward to deer hunting on his property in Leakey. Foley was a graduate of Rice University and was an amazing mathematician. He had a very successful 41 year career at Union Carbide and served as Plant Manager for more than 16 of those years. Foley was a wonderful family man and provider for his family. He always encouraged all of his children to do well in school and supported them in their decisions to go to college and with their careers. He had a brilliant mind and could self-teach himself many things from mechanical or electrical repairs. Foley loved going to pawn shops to find deals on tools. He enjoyed riding his John Deere tractor and mowing his yard wearing his hard hat. Foley was affectionately known to his grandkids as “Paw Paw” and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Foley’s honor to the house in which his son Michael resides. A visitation for Foley will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
