Obituary of Robert Arthur Winegar

Robert “Bob” Arthur Winegar, 74, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Art and Mazel Winegar; his first wife of 48 years, Gloria Nell Workman Winegar, his second wife, Nita VanGorkon Winegar; and brother, Donald Winegar. Bob is survived by his daughters, Lisa Winegar Marsh and Laura Everington Winegar; grandchildren, Megan Marsh, Garrett Germany and Mackensie Thorn; great grandchild, Hayden Aguilar; his companion and dear friend, Barbara Bailey; and a host of other family and friends.
Bob was very athletic throughout his junior high and high school years, and went on to Baylor University on an athletic scholarship for baseball. He was a wonderful husband, father and provider for his family. Bob was with the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department for 8 years and then went on to work with the Bennett Volunteer Fire Department in Conroe for over ten years where he was the Fire Chief. He worked for Playboy Enterprises for 16 years. After his career with Playboy, Bob went on to have a successful career in construction, specifically in concrete work as a supervisor for Kinsel Industries and safety director for Beyer Construction for more than 25 years. He was an active and dedicated member of the Benevolent and Protected Order of Elks in Pearland for more than 20 years. Bob had a great sense of humor and a very quick wit. He always enjoyed the outdoors loved bay fishing with his family and friends. Bob will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A memorial service for Bob will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Rev. Dr. Steve Porter officiating.
