Obituary of Maria Teresa Rocha

Maria “Tere” Teresa Rocha, 72, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hilario and Lidia Garcia; brothers, Juan de Dios Garcia, Anastacio Garcia, Hilario Garcia; and sister, Irene Garcia. Tere is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Sergio Rocha; sons, Luis and Martin Rocha; daughters, Nidia Flores and husband, Anselmo, Maria DeJesus Mejia and husband, Juan, Rosa Fuentes and husband, Saul, Irma Escandon and husband, Ray; brothers, Alfredo, Oscar, Enrique, and Jose Luis Garcia; sisters, Elvia, Carmen and Martha Garcia; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one on the way; and a host of other family and friends. Tere was a loving wife, mother and abuelita. She was an early riser and looked forward to her morning coffee. Tere had high expectations for her children and expected all of them to behave at home and at school. She taught everyone to work hard if you want to be successful and succeed. Tere loved nature and sitting and watching the birds, squirrels and butterflies. She had an amazing sense of humor and will forever be remembered for her favorite sayings of “Excuse Me” and “Watchinge”. Tere will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A visitation for Tere will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 10:00 am with Deacon Cruz Trujillo officiating.
