Elier Salinas passed away on December 15, 2008. He is preceded in death by his parents Melquiades Salinas & Eduviges Lopez Salinas, and son, Saul Salinas. He is survived by his loving wife, Martina; daughters, Martha Baskin & her husband, Curtis and Ruth Salinas; sister, Manuela Salinas & her husband Rafael; grandchildren, Daniel Salinas, Larry Baskin, Jacob Salinas, Joshua Salinas, Lexi Conner, Stephanie Baskin, & Teresa Baskin; and a host of other family & friends.
Elier was born on February 1, 1935 in San Agustin, MCPO De Los Herreras, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He was affectionately known as “Guelito” to his grandchildren and “Papi” to his wife and children. Elier was a chef for more than 10 years at the Red Lion. He loved to cook for his family and enjoyed sweets and hot sauce, the stronger the better. He could occasionally be found on the golf course engaged in a relaxing game of golf. After retirement, Elier’s favorite saying was, “A whole bunch of nothing”. He was a constant giver to his family and had a big heart. Everyone that knew him loved him dearly. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Visitation for Elier will be on Friday, December 19, 2008, beginning at 6:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be at 7:00 pm, also in the Clayton Chapel. Interment will be in Panteon Municipal Cemetery, San Augustin, De Los Herraras, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
