Patricia Angela Russo, 51, passed away on December 28, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her son John M. Russo; father, Herbert Hieber; brothers, Michael Hieber, and Neal Hieber & his wife Sheila; sisters, Dolores Patterson & her husband Rick, and Kathleen Harrott & her husband Randy; former husband, John W. Russo; nieces, Magen and Ashlyn; nephews, Nathan, Steven, Patrick, and Adam; and a host of many other family & friends. Patty was a kind and loving person with a huge heart full of love. Her blood made her family to many, but her kindness made her a friend to all. She always humbled herself before others, and was extremely selfless in everything she did. Few people can attest to such an altruistic life, but Patty Russo could do so proudly. Patty was born in Chicago, Illinois, and was an avid Cubs fan, but became an Astros fan after moving to Houston. She worked diligently throughout her entire life and was a data analyst at Chevron/Texaco for many years. In her free time she enjoyed bowling, relaxing on her patio, or playing puzzle games such as Scrabble, Dominoes, Jumble, and Sorry. Throughout her struggle with cancer, Patty not only displayed an incredibly strong will, but an astounding amount of faith. She always had a positive attitude, and refused to give up hope. Patty Russo has been an inspiration to many people, and will remain in our hearts forever. As her son writing this, I can say that she did everything humanly possible to raise me well, and I could always count on her love, support, and advice. She was not only a mother to me, but my best friend as well. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Patty’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2008 at 1:00 pm, at the Silverlake Community Church 1865 Cullen Blvd. Pearland, Texas 77584 with Pastor Reginald DeVaughn officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Patty’s memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, 1-800-ACS-2345, www.cancer.org, or any Hospice Organization.
