Obituary of Joyce Hawkins

Joyce P. Hawkins, a resident of Friendswood, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the age of 84 years. Joyce was born September 12, 1921 in Orange, Texas to Bryan and Carrie (Evans) Peveto. She was a former resident of Las Vegas, Nevada and was of the Baptist faith. Joyce enjoyed cooking and traveling. She truly loved her family and her friends. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Spencer Stanley Hawkins, Jr. and her son, Donald Hawkins. She is survived by a loving family; her daughter, Joyce Ann Davis and her husband, John, of Pearland; her sister, Dora Lea Bullock, of Sulphur, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Donald Lee Seaton, Spencer Hawkins, Bryan Seaton, Stephen Hawkins, Shanna Diaz, Shanae Scribner and Matthew Hawkins; six great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 3 PM - 7 PM Monday, September 4, 2006, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, in Pearland. A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, September 5, 2006, in the chapel of Clayton Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Park, in Houston.
