Ann Haedge Cockerell of Pearland, Texas passed away on Monday, June 12, 2006. A native of Frydek, Texas, she attended Frydek Public School and was a graduate of Sealy High School. Ann was the first female senior accounting clerk at Shell Oil Company in downtown Houston prior to moving to Pearland in 1961. Ann received her real estate license in 1962 and was recognized for her accomplishments as a realtor in Brazoria County. A long time member of Pearland First United Methodist Church, Ann was a devoted member of the Searchlight Sunday School Class, supporter of the church youth group and active with Prime Timers. Ann a devoted wife, mother, granny and great granny is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Rex Cockerell of Pearland; Daughter Linda Cockerell Ward of Frydek; Son and daughter-in-law Alan and KT Cockerell of Seguin; Son David Cockerell of Pearland; Son Steven Cockerell of Houston; former daughter-in-law Deven Cockerell of Hitchcock; Granddaughters Teresa (Wade) Bosse of Needville, Lauren, Meredith, Claire and Eleanor Cockerell of Seguin; Great grandsons Mark and Justin Bosse of Needville; Sisters Evelyn (Clarence) McMurrey of Frydek and Dellie (Carl) Ermel of Houston; Brother Douglas Haedge of Houston; Sister-in law Tillie Haedge of East Bernard. Ann was preceded in death by parents Walter and Theresa Schiller Haedge, grandson Charles Alexander Cockerell, brothers Alfred Haedge and J.D. Haedge. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2006, from 6-8 pm at the Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland. A celebration of Ann’s life will be held Thursday, June 15, 2006, at 1:30 pm at First United Methodist Church, 2314 N. Grand Blvd, Pearland. Graveside services and interment will follow at 4:30 PM, at San Felipe Cemetery, in San Felipe, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Ann Cockerell Memorial Youth Fund, c/o First United Methodist Church, Pearland.
