Sylvia Fay Coulter, a resident of Pearland, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2006 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Coulter was born December 21, 1928 in Stamford, Texas to Lyle and Bessie Emilene (Skiles) Adams.
Mrs. Coulter was a member of the Garden Road Baptist Church in Pearland and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Jack Sherman Coulter, her three sons, James Sherman, Perry and Jack Shirl Coulter and a son-in-law, Isaac Johnny Anthis. Mrs. Coulter is survived by a loving family; three daughters, Lacresha Ann Anthis, Cynthia Sue Pelton and Sheryl Denise Luna; brothers and sisters, Nita Pace and husband, Charles, Vern Cowan and husband, Gene, Beth Collier, Peggy Crumby and husband, Jabo, Kenneth Adams and wife, Billie, Alford Adams and wife, Glenda, Wendell Adams and wife, Nancy, Linda Hinton and Ronnie Adams; grandchildren, David Coulter, Mitchell Coulter, Martha Luna, Jamie Luna, Bryan Pelton, Tammi Pelton, Sherman Pelton, Rene Garcia, Billy Pelton, Tracy Coulter, Kevin Coulter, Christy Coulter and Jenny Coulter; great-grandchildren, Stephanie Garcia, Alyssa Garcia, Tiffany Pelton, Drucilla Pelton, Wayne Pelton, Harley Pelton, Amos Herrera, Cheyenne Coulter, Jasmine Fulcher, Jeremy Robinson, Jamison Robinson, Collin Coulter, Chance Coulter and Anthony Coulter; great-great granddaughter, Madelynn Hinkle; and numerous other relatives as well as a host of dear friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas. A celebration of Mrs. Coulter’s life will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, May 24, 2006, in the Chapel of Clayton Funeral Home with Rev. Donald W. Pope, officiating. Interment will follow at the Cleveland City Cemetery, in Cleveland. Those serving as pallbearers are; William Bruce Pelton, Bruce Bryan Pelton, Sherman Lyle Pelton, Billy Jack Pelton, James Luna and Leopoldo Galvan, Jr.
