Obituary of Peggy Ruth Matocha

Peggy Ruth Matocha, 87, went to be with the Lord, Monday, December 26, 2016. She is preceded in death by her mother, Anne Volcik Henson; her loving husband of 60 years, Erwin Alfred Matocha; and son, Mark Erwin Matocha. Peggy is survived by her son, Martin Matocha and his wife, Debbie; daughters, Suzanne Matocha, Mary Brower and her husband, Jack; grandchildren, Duane Matocha, Christopher Matocha and his wife, Cara, Stacey Childress Meyer and her husband, Chip, Mandy Childress Kelley and her husband, Clay, Dusty Brower, Ian Brower and Ché Brower; great grandchildren, Layton Meyer, Layne Meyer, Landry Meyer, Sade Kelley, Aubree Kelley, Chloe Matocha, Peyton Brower; and a host of other family and friends. Peggy was truly a caregiver her entire life and always sought out ways to help others in need. She had an artist’s heart and enjoyed scrapbooking, crocheting and tole painting. Peggy enjoyed all kinds of music but especially looked forward to Saturday nights dancing to Polka and Waltz music with her husband. She collected perfume bottles and loved shopping; especially after Christmas for all the wonderful deals. Peggy and her family loved the outdoors and would go camping, fishing, crabbing and spending time together. She and Erwin loved getting together and playing pinochle and 42 with Frankie and Al. She enjoyed baking for others and helping with church fundraisers. Peggy and Erwin were great Houston Astros fans and were extremely excited to be a part of the festivities when the new stadium was built. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. The visitation for Peggy will be held Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 6:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place Friday, December 30, 2016 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Brother Trey Crespo officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Resurrection Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
