Obituary of Mark Hunter McLearen

Please share a memory of Mark to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mark Hunter McLearen, 55, was born August 17, 1961 and accepted Jesus’ invitation to come rest in his promise of Eternal Life February 7, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Frances McLearen. Mark is survived by his brothers, David McLearen and wife, Theresa, Earl McLearen and wife, Cindy; sisters, Melinda Triolo and husband, John, Sheila Zeitler and husband, Danny; and a host of other family and dear friends. Mark arrived on campus May 7, 2008 and lived his life with us for 8 years, a good life of happiness and love that he shared with all who knew him. He was recently transferred from Pecos to the San Antonio Home and enjoyed his, as he would say “retirement” by attending the Forever Young Program where he enjoyed watching movies, attending the monthly Birthday Celebrations and making crafts. Mark enjoyed the personal freedom that retirement afforded him and he especially liked taking long walks on the campus between programming sessions. He quickly developed relationships with the Forever Young staff because of his outgoing, friendly nature. Mark enjoyed walking around campus and talking with everyone, friends and strangers alike. He especially enjoyed fishing with his family and going on shopping trips. Many friends from our campus were able to see Mark during his last days to pray for Divine Mercy and to rekindle all those wonderful memories that we shared with him throughout the years. Mark resided in the San Antonio C home and liked to watch TV especially Teen Wolf. He had an extensive collection of movies that he enjoyed very much and often talked about to programming staff. He was very sociable and loved attention from the home and programming staff. He liked to listen to country music, especially Hank Williams. He loved to make and wear necklaces and liked to do arts and crafts such as decorating t-shirts and drawing pictures. Mark’s religious background was Baptist. During this past year, Mark occasionally attended religious services on campus and seemed to really enjoy the special music presented by the chaplaincy when they visited San Antonio C. Mark’s family was happy with the care and services Mark received at the RSSLC. All the staff had a special place in their hearts for Mark and were very supportive of everything that Mark was part of. They truly cared and loved him every shift, every day, every heartbeat. We will miss our Mark but his memory will always live in our Hearts forever. When we live by love we live the Best! A Funeral Service for Mark will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Chaplain Billy Guerrero officiating.
