Obituary of Richard "Ricky" Ford

Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Richard “Ricky” Bert Ford passed away on Monday, January 29th, 2024, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 61. Ricky is preceded in death by his father, Clifton Ford Sr. Left to cherish Ricky’s memory are his mother, Mary Sue (Anderson) Wilcox and husband Bobby; wife of 24 years, Jamie (Owens) Ford; son, Jason Dickinson and wife Hali; daughter, Madison Ford; brothers, Kent Ford and Dustin Ford; sisters, Dalora Miller and husband Steve, Salyntha Elliott and husband Scott; siblings, Jimmy Wilcox, Kathe Clemons, Karren Purcell and husband Jackie; grandchildren, Nolan Dickinson, Wyatt Dickinson; and a host of many other family and friends.

Ricky grew up in Pearland, Texas, and he strived to always represent the values which made Pearland a great place to live. Growing up he worked many odd jobs in the Pearland area, from mucking horse stalls, to cooking at Ford’s Restaurant, which his grandparents owned. Ricky went on to attend Texas A&M University, where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration before starting a successful career in the oil and gas industry. He received many awards throughout his life ranging from music, citizenship, community, and was even crowned King of Pearland by PNC.

Ricky devoted his life to his family, career, and his father’s legacy project which is now known as Persedo Spirits. He enjoyed traveling the world with Jamie, watching Aggie football, and playing golf. Ricky’s greatest source of pride was his children and grandchildren. Ricky was extremely proud to see Jason grow into an amazing man and father, and to present Madison with her aggie ring 30 years after he received his own.

Ricky was a friend to all and stranger to none. He never let anyone leave a room without feeling welcomed and treated absolutely everyone respectfully. Ricky had the rare gift of being able to light up any room just by walking in the door. Everyone loved his big laugh, and he will be remembered for his contagious smile and genuine heart of gold. His positive attitude and delightful sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Ricky’s memory to MD Anderson Cancer Center or the First United Methodist Church of Pearland.
