Gerardo Jesus Serrano, Beloved Son, Brother, grandson and friend to all.

Gerardo brought joy and warmth into the lives of his family and friends from the moment he entered this world. His infectious laughter, gentle spirit, and unwavering kindness touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

Gerardo’s compassionate nature knew no bounds. He had a unique ability to uplift others with his witty jokes that were sure to lighten anyone's mood (no matter the occasion). He was a man that stood by his word, he was humble and firm. He was an easy-going guy. He never met a stranger, befriending many with his genuine smile. Whether it was through a heartfelt conversation or a simple act of kindness, he had a profound impact on those he encountered.

Gerardo had a close connection to his family, the inner-circle of his life.  Gerardo formed part of his family’s company, working alongside his father Jesus and brother Luis. With his father Jesus, he was a jokester and very playful, someone he considered a friend and was able to be himself - with a lot of respect. His mother Alma, was his backbone, but when she needed him the most, he adjusted to her needs quickly, such as learning how to cook, clean, and manage the household. He was very hands-on and swift to help. With his sister Rosi, he shared a deep and unbreakable bond that consisted of comforting embraces, many Sundays watching football and late night snack runs. Gerardo looked up to his big brother Luis as his biggest role model. Their mutual respect and admiration was felt unspoken and unseen. Their bond will forever be one of  brotherhood and companionship.

Gerardo loved his four legged companion: Champ. With every toss of the ball, long dog walks or days at the dog park, the presence of his loyal companion Champ was a precious gift, a reminder of the profound joy that comes from loving and being loved in return.

He had a passion for football, playing throughout his high school career at Lamar High.  His enthusiasm for football also included cheering for his favorite football team; The Houston Texans. He proudly wore his custom jersey, with ‘SERRANO’ lettering on it as he was rooting for his hometown team.

Shows and movies were one of his many pastimes. He knew all the words and scenes to the likes of Breaking Bad, King of the Hill, Malcolm in the Middle, Spider-Man and he knew every hidden detail about the whimsical world of Harry Potter. Gerardo’s enthusiasm was contagious to all who shared in his interests and he delighted in sharing his favorite movies and shows with those he loved.

Gerardo leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire us all. The memories we shared and the love we hold for him will endure forever, as he remains in our hearts. May his legacy live on through the love and compassion that we hold for one another.
