There are some people who come into your life through your children and become part of your heart. Justin was one of those people, and one of my favorites. Watching him and my son grow up together gave me the chance to know what a kind and respectful young man he was. He always greeted me with a smile, and I will always remember the joy and laughter he brought.
Justin wasn't just one of my son's friends, he was family. It has been heartbreaking to hear of his passing, and my heart aches for his family, his friends, and everyone whose life he touched.
I am grateful to have known him.
Rest peacefully, Justin. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

It doesn’t feel like it was that long ago we were both waiting to walk out and support our siblings on one of the biggest days of their lives. That was also the day you officially became my brother.

Even though Too Sexy by Drake unexpectedly started playing as we walked out, we just laughed, embraced it, and stayed just as hyped to stand beside them. Looking back, it’s one of those moments that will always make me smile.

There was never a dull moment when you were around. You never cared if your perspective was different from everyone else’s. You were unapologetically yourself and authentic in everything you did. That’s something I’ll always respect.

You’ll be truly missed, brother. Rest easy.

To the Matthews family, we are so sorry for your loss. Please know our heart breaks for you and your family during this unimaginable time.

Justin and Markie came into our lives when they were very little. Justin was 2 years old and Markie was 4. They were such sweet kids and were in the age group of my kids, Marissa and Travis. Danielle did a great job in raising them as her own.
I remember Justin as a kind, loving person who was always smiling and playful. When he and my kids were little, Cook had Easter at her house and had an Easter Egg Hunt with fun games outside for the kids.
The last time I saw Justin was in Galveston at Dylan’s graduation party. He and Maria were there, and they were so happy together.
Although he left us too soon, he will always be in our heart. May you rest in peace, Justin our Angel.

Ethel, I’m heart broken myself, so I can’t even begin to imagine your pain.
I was thinking about how Justin came out to Atlanta to train us. Then I was looking back at all those text messages from him and how he worked with us to set up our apps and MetaMask wallets and he showed me and my daughter Tamira how to use Kraken to buy and sell crypto.
He was so intelligent, respectful and helpful and an excellent teacher, plus he helped me (another grandma) to figure out things on my own. He was such a treasure!
God will strengthen you and keep you because He loves you and He knows what you can bear.
Again my heart goes out to you and your family my friend with ❤️ & 🙏🏾’s.
