24 Hour Fitness Aqua Zumba class members - Henry Hammond, Jackie Flanagan, Lisa Hudspeth, and Carla Guidry
Terri religiously came to my Aqua Zumba classes at 24 Hour Fitness twice a week, practically since my first day as an instructor there in 2014. She was always very quiet in class, but I always missed her when she wasn’t there, even though that seldomly occurred.
I typically warm-up the class members to the song “Sunday Morning” by Mary Mary. One day, Terri asked for the name of the song because she wanted to use it to teach her students the days of the week through song. I was honored to share it with her.
Class attendance usually averages around 30, so most members probably didn’t know her by name until she allowed me to share her cancer diagnosis with them. From that moment on, everyone in class knew her name and prayed for her recovery. We were so thankful when she returned to class with a positive prognosis. So it saddened us greatly when we learned that Terri was beginning hospice care, and our collective heart broke when she passed away. I miss Terri and can’t imagine ever forgetting her.
Terri, you were a beacon of positivity. Thank you for sharing your light with us at Aqua Zumba. I’m so grateful our paths crossed and I hope you are having the best time in Heaven! Rest in peace my friend.♥️Jasmine

Terry and I met in water zumba at. 24hour fitness. We became fitness buddies where we sometimes spoke of our and shared shared interests in education. Although I was saddened when she shared her diagnosis, I loved her spirit for continuing to come and being surrounded by the her family at the pool who loved her dearly. I really hope she knew we love her and missed her dearly. My condolences to her family. May peace be with your family during this time of bereavement.

I am so very sorry for the loss of Terri. She was a fabulous person and gone much too soon! I remember going to Terri & Tom’s wedding and being so impressed that she created her own wedding gown! It was exquisite! Another time Tom & Terri came to visit me in Bella Vista Arkansas when they were helping Terri’s dad. We visited the Cooper Chapel and enjoyed a Mexican dinner at El Publito. My deepest condolences to the whole family. 🩷
My fondest memory of her was how she would tell me to smile when I was in a bad mood especially in pictures

I enjoyed learning alongside her about music therapy practices, but one of my favorite stories was her experience at guitar center. She was getting strings for her bass and an employee was trying to"mansplain" the instrument and string sizes to her and she was like...."uh, thanks, but I knowwww! I'm a musician" she was such a caring individual with a passion to help others in need in her talents. I and our music therapy community will miss her!
