Alvonia L. Williams, 67, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Taylor and Aldonia Stevenson; sisters, Mary Ann Camp and Sarah Lee Perkins. Alvonia is survived by her son, Ernest Williams; daughters, Betina Conrad, Angela Williams-Njenga and husband, Samuel; sisters, Lucy Mae Murray and husband, Joe, Octavia Spears and husband, Samuel, Mattie Lee Woods-Brown; grandchildren, Shonchelle Granger, Shamone Williams, and Michael Moreney; and a host of other family and friends.
Alvonia retired from Methodist Hospital with over 20 years of service in 2010. She enjoyed spending time with family and traveling. Alvonia was strong in her faith and devoted to her church. She had many hobbies and adored her grandchildren. She was affectionately known as “Bowl of Love” by Shereé and “Grandma” by Michael and Shamone. Alvonia will forever be remembered for her great sense of humor and her favorite saying, “I mean.” She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A graveside service for Alvonia will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 10:00 am at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
