Margaret Sue Rexford, 76, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, F. Stewart and Mary Osborn, brother, William Osborn. Sue is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Bob Rexford; sons, Robert S. Rexford and wife, Kim, Thomas Rexford and wife, Carmen; brother, Stewart P. Osborn; grandchildren Reagan, Robert, Ryan, and Riley Rexford; niece Elizabeth Osborn-Ramirez and nephew Stewart Osborn, Jr.; grandnieces Luna Ramirez, Gabby Pineda, and Delaney Osborn; and her beloved dog Sophie, and a host of other family and friends.
Sue was born in Miami Beach, Florida and spent her formative years traveling with her family between Florida, New York, and Rome before ultimately finishing high school in Long Island. Sue graduated from Northwestern University, where she met her future husband, and was a member of Delta Gamma Fraternity. After college, she taught at high schools in Chicago and New Jersey before working as an interpreter at the United Nations in New York. Due to her foreign language skills, she was recruited by TWA in New York to be a stewardess on international flight. After starting her family in New York, she moved to Houston to have her second son and spent the remainder of her life raising her children and grandchildren in the Conroe and Houston area. The last 25 years of her life were spent at Country Place in Pearland where she enjoyed playing golf with her husband and their many friends. Always the loyal and loving matriarch, Sue became the keeper of family history as she methodically traced the family’s roots back to the Old Country, which, besides laying the groundwork for her membership in Daughters of the American Revolution, provided a wealth of information for her children and grandchildren. Margaret Sue Rexford was loved by many and will be missed.
The visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00am with services beginning at 11:00am at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581.
