Obituary of Marita Anne Irmiter

Marita Anne Irmiter, 67, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017.  She is preceded in death by her father, Willard Irmiter.  Marita is survived by loving and devoted husband, Ron Lauve; mother, Pearl Irmiter; daughter, Vienda Velasquez; sister, Marcene Maas; nephew Aaron Maas; niece Andrea Krambeer; step-children, Laura Gerber, Leslee Hardgrove, Brad Lauve; and a host of other family and friends.

Marita was a practicing attorney for many years in the Pearland area.  She made a huge impact on many lives and enjoyed handling adoptions.  Marita had a gift of gab and never met a stranger.  She was a unique person in many ways, including her own unique name and that of her daughter.  Marita loved shoes especially if they were leopard print, brightly colored or sparkly.  While in high school, she was an Iowa state champion softball pitcher.  She attended the University of Iowa where she completed her Law degree.  Marita loved trying new things and adventures.  She found pleasure in gardening hibiscus and amaryllis bulbs and spending time at the farmer’s markets.  Marita especially enjoyed sailing, playing a game of golf and dancing.  She enjoyed entertaining, whether it was a theme party or a celebration and spending quality time with family and friends.  Marita took interest in traveling and collecting items which she used to decorate her home.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Marita’s honor to the Pearland Library or to Ovarian Cancer Research at www.judysmission.org.  The family requests that the dress code for the service is casual with bright colors and/or animal print.

A Memorial Services for Marita will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Rev. Dr. Keith Whitaker officiating.
