Mary Cowan July 10, 1916 - March 31, 2007 Mary Marie Cowan, 90, of La Porte, Texas died March 31, 2007. She was born July 10, 1916 in Sparks, Oklahoma to Tom and Adelaide (Doshier) Sorrels. Mrs. Cowan was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of La Porte. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Cowan and great-grandchild, Bart Greer. Mrs. Cowan is survived by her children Yuvonna E. Gillespie, Dorothy Marie Adams, Carl F. Cowan and wife, Adela, and Zephra E. Brown and husband, Tony; grandchildren, Linda Harrison and husband, Tommy, James E. Gillespie, Jr. and wife, Audrey, Rose Schumann and husband, Dale, Douglas Wayne Prine, Audrey Flores, Mary Jones, Donny Anzualda, Veronica Cavazos and husband, Lorenzo, Carl F. Cowan II, and Adelaide Reinitz-Gomez and husband, Leonard Gomez; great-grandchildren, Rebecca Harrison, Myschel Greer, Lauren Nieto, A. J. Nieto, Tracie Adams, Stacie Griffin, Courtney Griffin, Shelby Griffin, Jakob Jones, Mary Jones, Codi (Anzualda) Jordan, Amber Anzualda, Sarah Anzualda, Hunter Anzualda, Myranda, Emily Reinitz-Gomez, and Zachary Gomez. Services will be conducted by Rev. Mike Davis at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Paul U. Lee-La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at the Grand View Memorial Park Cemetery in Pasadena, TX. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Paul U. Lee-La Porte Funeral Home.
