Lydia Rios Farias October 24, 1936 - December 06, 2015 “……To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8)” LYDIA RIOS FARIAS, 79, of La Porte, Texas, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 6, 2015, after a lengthy illness, which she fought to the very end, when our Lord decided to ease her pain. Born in Brownsville, Texas on October 24, 1936, Lydia is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, REYNALDO G. FARIAS; her three children, Rosie Farias (Paul Guerra, San Antonio), Raul Farias (Alba Farias, La Porte) & Ruben Farias (Melissa Farias, La Porte). Also, four stepsons, Roy L. Farias (Linda Farias, Houston), Roberto S. Farias (Adriana Farias, San Antonio), Richard R. Farias (Rita Farias, Houston) & Reynaldo Farias, Jr (Mary Farias, Converse). Two aunts, Guadalupe Treviño & Amelia Salinas of Brownsville, TX. Two sisters, Minerva Ramirez (Joe Ramirez) of Waxahachie, TX and Maria de Jesus Pineda also of Brownsville, TX and numerous cousins, nieces & nephews. 13 Grandchildren are: Raquel Farias Cheatle, Dianna Farias-Simien (Daniel), Cristina Farias Huerta (Fred), Rick Farias, Sonya Ramirez (Richard), Miguel Farias, Daniel Farias (Stacy), Julie Farias Bollich (Jason), Jason Farias, Amanda Fuentes-Riley (Bryan), Cecilia Fuentes, Blake Farias & Danielle Farias. 18 Great Grandchildren are: Alexa Cheatle, Julia Cheatle, Maddie Cheatle, Alyssa Simien, Isaiah Simien, Aria Simien, Alia Simien, Benjamin Huerta, Aiden Huerta, Cruz Huerta, Desi Farias, Isaiah Ramirez, Ilicia Farias, Eliana Farias, Cristian Farias, Elizabeth Riley, Jacob Bollich and Jonah Bollich Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, Carmen S. Rios, Augustin Rios, her sisters, Juanita R. Garcia & Hortencia R. Vallejo, her first born, Ruben and her first granddaughter, Hillory J. Farias. Of all her accomplishments, Lydia’s greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family and friends. She had a unique gift to recognize and appreciate the talents in others and to make them feel loved and lifted by her presence. She leaves all her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren with the knowledge that they were truly loved and they know that she loved the Lord.
