Earnest “Bubba” Powell, 73, of La Porte passed away Tuesday June 2, 2009. He was born December 19, 1935 in Galveston, Texas to Nonie and Henry Powell. Bubba worked at DuPont for 37 years till he retired in 1995. He is survived by his wife Mary June Powell, children Bubba Powell and wife Mary of La Porte, Tangie Russell and husband Tommy of La Porte, Jesse Powell of Canada, Danny Powell and wife Jane of La Porte, Julia Hutchins and husband Darrell of La Porte, sister Sally Evans of Louisiana, Grandchildren Jeremy Powell, Crystal McDonald, Clint Brown, Clay Brown, Chris Russell, Jeff Russell, Haden Powell, Courtney Hutchins, and Corby Hutchins, and 7 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday June 5, 2009 at 4 PM- 8PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held Saturday June 6, 2009 at 11AM at Grand View Memorial Park Cemetery.
