Nancy Estelle Thornton, 77, of Conroe, passed away August 10, 2015 in Conroe, Texas.
Nancy was born in Houston to James and Etta Estelle Bryant on March 14, 1938. She went to high school in Houston, Texas. She was a wonderful mother, housewife, and worked numerous odd jobs through her lifespan, as well as at the LaPorte High School Cafeteria. She enjoyed her children’s extracurricular activities, cooking, gardening, canning fig preserves, watching her soap operas, and spending time with her family and close friends.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Fronzo Thornton, II; her daughter, Etta Faye Drabing; her parents, James and Etta Estelle Bryant; her sister, Rozella Neubaruer, and nephew, Marlin Hicks.
Nancy is survived by her sister Ann Hicks of Dallas, Texas; sons Jesse F. Thornton, III (wife Linda) and Marlin D. Thornton; five grandchildren Chad W. McGuire (wife Tammy), Christopher M. Thornton (wife Jenny), Cary R. Thornton (wife Jacqueline), Crystal Mayer (husband Sam), Jessica Willingham and great-grandchildren Derek McGuire, Madison McGuire, Christopher Chance Thornton, Corbyn Thornton, Dagney Pawlewicz , Jax Pawlewicz, Dane Thornton, Cole Thornton, Cruz Thornton, Carlo Thornton, Samantha Mayer, Autumn (and baby brother) Willingham; great great granddaughter Blakeleigh McGuire; and niece Kathy Stephens, and nephew Michael Hicks. Visitation will be held at Paul U. Lee Funeral Home on August 15, 2015 from 9:00-11:30 a.m., Grave site services will follow at 12:00 noon at Grandview Memorial Park with Chaplain Charlie Flanagan officiating.
