Gwendolyn Pearl Lynam Tilley March 08, 1936 - October 12, 2016 Gwendolyn Pearl Lynam Tilley, 80, from Pasadena, Texas died October 12, 2016. She was born March 8, 1936 in Bishop, Texas to Elbert Lynam and May Pierson. Gwen earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Texas A&I in Kingsville, Texas and a Doctorate from University of Houston. She worked for San Jacinto College for 35 years, and retired as Vice Chancellor in 2006. She served on numerous boards such as the National Council of Instruction Administrators, Texas Community College Instructional Administrators Association, and the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of O.E.S chapter 683 La Porte, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Elbert and May Lynam; brothers Marshall Lynam and Jimmy Lynam. She is survived by her husband Richard Alan Tilley; Children Joy Birk and husband Richard; Richard Alan Tilley, Jr and wife Samantha; Grandchildren Allison Lee Martindale and husband Adam; Bailey Marie Birk (Shawn Mulherin); Ryan Anthony Tilley (Virginia Gray); Ryder Austin Tilley; and Great Grandchild Reagan Tilley and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 4pm to 6pm at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home. Services will be Monday, October 17, 2016 at 10am at South Main Baptist Church 4300 East Sam Houston Pkwy S, Pasadena, TX 77505 with interment immediately following at Grand View Memorial Park in Pasadena, Texas.
