Marcella Ann ‘Sally’ Pavlosky, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2020. Sally was a resident of Houston and Pearland for more than 50 years. Sally was born June 15, 1935 in her beloved hometown of Portsmouth, Ohio to Frank and Margaret Burling Trogus. In Portsmouth, Sally graduated from Notre Dame High School and then Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. On April 4, 1959, Sally married James Edward ‘Jim’ Pavlosky at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Portsmouth. Sally was a devoted wife and moved with her husband Jim to Houston as one of the pioneering NASA families in 1962. Sally continued her nursing career in Houston, serving as a Labor & Delivery nurse at Memorial Hermann Hospital Southeast. She built a home and a family in Houston. She was a loving mother, Grandma to her grandkids, and ‘Aunt Lala’ to her nieces and nephews. Sally cherished spending time with her family and loved following their activities and cheering on their accomplishments. She took great pride in sending out Holiday cards and a “treat” to all the children in the extended family. Sally was an avid crafter and loved knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitching assorted personal items for her family. Sally was strong in her faith and an active member at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church. Previously, Sally was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel for over 35 years, where she served on the Parish Council and on the Board of Education at the school. Sally supported her children as a member of the Houston Aggie Mom’s Club, and later joined the Pearland and Friendswood Aggie Mom’s Clubs for some of her grandchildren. Sally will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Sally is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Margaret Trogus and her loving husband of 52 years, Jim Pavlosky. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Susan Moyer and husband David; son James E. Pavlosky II and wife Deborah; brothers Frank Trogus and wife Marian; Mike Trogus and wife Cindy; sisters Margie Carson, Mary Clare Schroeder and husband Jim; grandchildren David, Michelle and Maryann Moyer; Mara, Lucas and Carlye Pavlosky. She also leaves behind a host of other family and dear friends. A visitation and rosary for Sally will be held Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will be held from 5:30 until 8:00 pm with the Rosary recited at 6:00 pm.
